The evidence of this is visually clear as you look around the auditorium, in the Church foyer or even logging onto our website. However, as a church we know that there is so much more to our church beyond a slogan encouraging us to "Engage, Grow, Go".<br> <br> During the time in which PUC's Senior Leadership Group sought God's direction for PUC there was a constant returning to the scripture "not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty" (Zec. 4:6). God has indeed brought us as a church back to square 1, to a place of humbly following him. <br> <br> There is a quote that I have on my desk that says, "what the church needs to do is to realize her weakness, her impotence, that the power is always of God and not of man. There is nothing so fatal as the reliance upon man's ability to deal with the situation of the church... The first step is to realize that man, having done everything, has in a sense done nothing." (Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones) As we launch forward in this new direction that God has put before us we must do so with a commitment to humbly follow God. A key part of this is to do so trusting and upholding PUC's Senior Leadership Group.<br> <br> The Senior Leadership Group at PUC is commonly known as the Church Council. This team is charged by the congregation with the task of "building up the Congregation in faith and love, sustaining members in hope, and leading the Congregation to a fuller participation in Christ's mission in the world." (UCA Constitution: 3.1.13, 2008) The collective work of Steve, the Senior Leadership Group, and Myself has resulted in a strategic direction which, as Minister's, we are responsible for executing on a daily basis in the life of PUC. <br> <br> Thus, Steve and I seek to lead people at PUC to Engage with God and others as a response to God's loving engagement with us and to Grow people as disciples in order to Go more intentionally and effectively into Christ's mission within this world.
