Soul in the Bush

PUC will be sending an all–age team, that means not just Revolve youth, but families, adults and young adults to Forbes, NSW. This special mission opportunity is the start of what we believe will be an ongoing partnership with a congregation in rural NSW. The purpose of this mission will be to build relationship with and serve alongside the local church in Forbes enabling them to bless the community beyond the capacity of the resources they have. This will be achieved by getting involved with a number of projects that the locals have identified for us to do with them. This may be something like painting, gardening or by running some school holiday activities for the children and youth of the town. We’ll have more information about the projects closer to the date.

If you are thinking about coming along, there are a few practical things to let you know:

• Transport to and from Forbes will involve some carpooling and possibly a hired mini bus. Once in Forbes any transport requirements are taken care of by the organisers.
• The cost of the 7 days is $250 (includes accommodation and all meals) with generous reductions for children under 11. This doesn’t include transport costs.
• The week is divided into two parts; Monday to Thursday will be based in Forbes (daily worship, teaching , prayer and projects). Friday to Sunday will be based in Bathurst (bringing together the teams from 40 towns to celebrate, debrief, join in main meetings, enjoy some sports and activities (including a great kids program). Friday to Sunday is optional.
• We are being accommodated in the church facility as well as a separate hostel/guest house (with family rooms) nearby. There is some flexibility for people to stay in the local caravan park / motel if they choose.

There is already quite a group of people who have indicated they’d like to be part of this fabulous mission opportunity. Being organised and well prepared is really important so please register as soon as possible so that we know exactly how many and what types of projects might best suit us.
