Our Neighbours

Our Neighbours Ministry began in 2003, with a vision to show God’s love to the poorest of the poor in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. These ministries began at Bulawayo Baptist Church, with support and assistance given to many people who were homeless, living in ‘squatter camps’, elderly, sick and orphaned children. Martin Barrow, the current Director and former member at PUC, founded these ministries. Many PUC members speak of the night that $36,000 was raised at the evening service to found the babies home. The main focuses of this ministry are:

  • Isaiah’s Homes of Love, established to assist abandoned babies, orphans and children in desperate need of care.
  • Lighthouse Christian School, a school for children who have missed out on many years of schooling for various reasons.
  • Our Neighbours, soup kitchen, empowerment projects; health information; individual and family assistance; community outreach; HIV support groups; and discipleship.
  • North End Home, a home for children who were previously living on the streets.
  • Esanleni Sothando, assisting girls to stay at school.
